Enroll Your Child In A Preschool That Will Enhance Creativity

Education & Development Blog

Maybe you already see that your child has a love for anything to do with creativity. If so, you might want to enhance that gift by enrolling him or her in a preschool that follows the Montessori philosophy of teaching children. Read on to find out more about what your child will do in this type of environment.

First of all, your child will interact with caregivers who have been trained in the Montessori methods. The instructors will be passionate about early learning and about helping your child to learn in his or her own way. A Montessori preschool class will provide experiences that will help your child to develop self-confidence and independence. In addition, your child will work individually and with his or her classmates in problem-solving projects.

When your child attends a Montessori preschool, he or she will be learning many of the same things that are taught at regular preschools. The biggest difference is that your child will work at his or her own pace. There will be very few interruptions while he or she is playing or working on a project. Hands-on learning through personal discovery will help your child to feel important and capable.

Even though there might be less structure in your child's Montessori preschool than in other types of preschools, your child will still learn a sense of order and a sense of personal responsibility. In addition, he or she will be expected to respect classmates and instructors.

If your child is ready, early reading will be part of the day's learning. Reading will be enhanced when your child is given the opportunity to tell his or her own stories, often to go along with a picture he or she has painted.

Even the toys your child will play with at his or her Montessori preschool will stimulate his or her mind.

  • For instance, age-appropriate puzzles will help your child with problem-solving.
  • Games that reinforce letters of the alphabet and number concepts will be available to your child, too.
  • Make-believe play with dress-up clothes and with toy people will stimulate your child's imagination.
  • Clay, finger-paints, and other types of crafts will help your child to develop his or her creativity.
  • Children's musical instruments will be available to help your child to develop musical talents.

Everything that happens in the Montessori preschool will be based on helping your child to feel joy, security, and love while he or she is away from home.
